With the UK’s national domain name registry at our core, we work with our members to bring the benefits of the internet to the millions who depend on our services.
Our experience in the Domain Name System (DNS) enables us to support critical internet infrastructure that public services rely on. Our management of the .gov.uk registry means we maintain the security and reliability of digital platforms vital to the operation of UK government. We also provide DNS services for the NHS, allowing healthcare professionals and the public to connect to online services.
We believe in an internet that benefits everybody. This commitment has driven us to fund projects that protect UK citizens from online criminal abuse, as well as nationwide initiatives to address the online skills gap and drive digital inclusion.

Countering Online Harms
The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) is a UK-based charity that works to make the internet a safer place. By identifying and removing global online child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
We’ve been funding the IWF’s important work since 2018, allowing the charity to develop innovations such as ‘clustering’ technology – enabling CSAM to be identified and taken down 112% faster than before.

Raising awareness of online safety
The UK Safer Internet Centre (UKSIC) is a unique partnership between three charities: the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), Childnet and South West Grid for Learning (SWGfL).
Each year, the UKSIC hosts Safer Internet Day – the UK’s biggest celebration of online safety. We’re proud to be a long-standing supporter.

Running one of the largest country code registries is a great responsibility. We have a duty to ensure .UK remains trusted and free from harm.
To make this happen, we work with law enforcement agencies and develop new technologies to tackle abuse in our namespace.

Members’ GiveHub Programme
Every Nominet member can access our GiveHub initiative to support UK-based grassroots projects of their choice and make a real difference to their work. Our members can access up to £10,000 per financial year. So far, funds have been used to help community groups, donate tablets to schools and keep communities connected online.
