Accessibility and help using nominet.uk
We’re striving to make our website with accessibility in mind, making it easy for everyone to use. If you are having any problems using the website do let us know. You can email problem details (including what browser and operating system you were using) to website@nominet.uk.

Clear content and links
As part of a process of improvement for accessibility, we have rewritten and reduced a lot of website copy, simplifying things where possible. We describe links logically (instead of using ‘click here’) so they make sense out of context. Where appropriate, we also add ‘title’ attributes to links to clearly explain their purpose. If you are using a screen reader, you can use the links we’ve provided to skip directly to the main content. Please note, ‘skip links’ will not be visible to those using a standard browser, except under certain circumstances (disabling stylesheets or using the keyboard for navigation). We try and add, where possible, text alternatives to images.
A note on Accessibility standards
We aim to comply with the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) current guidelines for accessibility; this is an ongoing process of re-evaluation and we are continually working to make our websites more accessible for people with disabilities as technology, and standards, allow. This includes the W3C’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0), which includes a series of conformance levels that may be used to review a website’s content for accessibility. We have reviewed our site against these guidelines and in the majority of cases achieve A or AA status.
Accessibility Tools
We use an accessibility widget from Userway, that enables you to tailor the webpage content to your viewing preferences on the nominet.uk website.
Portable Document Files (PDF)
Some of our content is provided in PDF file form. In order to view these documents through your browser you will need Adobe’s Acrobat Reader software; this free software can be installed for you if it is not available on your system by going to the Adobe web site.
